The Sun Woman- Photography Lili Forberg

Today I met possibly the sweetest girl in Ireland! Model Laura Fan was the model today, with Corina Gaffey styling and Aimee Murphy as the hair stylist. Laura has such an amazing figure, and the longest straightest hair, so everyones job was quite easy today!

The shoot was for The Sun Woman, which should be out any time soon, so do keep an eye out for ideas on how to wear denim, as this was the theme.

I havent seen the pics yet, but as soon as I do I'll post one or two on here.

Sit Still Hair Salon Drury Street

I've been working closely with Sit Still Hair Salon for the past week, as their makeup artist for both the Irish Hair Federation Competition, and also their entry for the Wella Competition.

The IHF competition is just such a crazy day!! Karen the stylist and I arrived to the salon the night before to run through styling and makup ideas, and then had an early start the next day to get all 8 models ready for each of their entry times.

The stylists who entered were Lisa, Joleen and Tina, and they all did really well in their sections. We chose a diamonte theme for Joleens models as her hair theme was futuristic, while we chose a really dramatic and creative style of makeup for Tinas models.

I have to say a big thankyou to my assistant Emma, who helped me on the day!!

For the Wella entry,(which is a photo of the hairstyle as opposed to a show) Tina and Joleen entered again. Ive huge confidence in the salon for their Wella entries, as the models looked really really great, despite us not finishing up until 12am! Poor Tinas original model never showed up, so she had to find someone last minute, but Im thinking it was meant to be, as the model she found used to model in China, and had the most amazing bone structure and hair!!Photographer Mark got some really great shots, and fingers crossed for them! Unfortunately I cant post any pics just yet, as the deadline for the Wella entries hasnt come around yet, so it wouldnt be fair to the entrants to post their pictures up here just yet!

Photoshoot - Galway Now Magazine

This has to be one of my favourite photoshoots ever! Photographer Lili Forberg, Stylist Corina Gaffey, Hairstylist Marjorie Mongan and model Faye from Assets, all came together at NCAD to create wonderful colourful  shots, bursting with vibrancy!

I did quite a natural makeup on the model, as we wanted a soft and feminine look. However we used a matte lip pencil to give a really matte vibrant colour on lips as seen on the catwalks this season.  Check out the shoot on April 1st , Galway Now Magazine.

We shot at NCAD in Damien Floods studio, some of his artwork can actually be seen in the photoshoot so keep an eye out for this also! Damien is such a great guy, which was demonstrated towards the end of the shoot, when I was splashing our model with water paints, he didnt seem to mind too much when I had a little mishap! Apologies again!

Faye is such a beautiful, beautiful girl, cant believe shes only new to the industry. Im sure she will become a familiar face in the modelling scene. Best of luck to her.xxx

Working with a new photographer-Ciaran Whyte, and UK models Tienne, and Lottie.

Today was the first time Ive worked with Irish photographer Ciaran Whyte, who I met at folio32.com and the two UK based models Tienne and Lottie.

The studio was in Rathmines, and we arrived for an early start to get the most out of the morning! Part of the shoot was artistic nude with Lottie, and then the 2nd half of the shoot was a more fashion/ porfolio based theme.

Lottie was a pleasure to work with and would definitely recommend her to any photographers looking to build a portfolio etc, from a makeup artists point of view.

Tienne; Swedish born, Dublin rared, and living in Liverpool, was wonderful and a stunning girl with great cheekbones! She can be found on folio32.com. Picture below is of Tienne.

As part of the shoot with one model was artistic nude, and some models may be a little wary or nervous at the start of the shoot,  I have to say Ciaran was great with both models, and professional throughout.

Everybody worked well together, and was on time which is always a good thing!

Photoshoot with photographer Lili Forberg and Model Laura Toogood 11th February 2008

Yesterday was a great working day! Its days like these that make me really love my job!! Finally got to work with photographer Lili Forberg, and model Laura Toogood, and it was amazing! The pics are absolutely fabulous also.
Laura was such a pro, and knew exactly what looks she wanted for her portfolio updates which made my job a lot easier!! And her ideas were just great, and worked really well with her face shape, and colouring etc.
We did three main looks, and one of those was an outdoor shot. Despite poor Laura being bikini clad on a rooftop across from a building site, covered in oil, with me throwing glasses of water in her face, she was a pro throughout! Absolutely stunning girl and really really great to work with.

Funniest moment of the day goes to the "wet look", which involved me throwing a glass of water in Lauras face, enough said!! Still laughing out loud thinking about it!!

January 2008

This month has been really really busy, which should probably have been a quiet month!

On the 11/12/13 Jan, I exhibited at the Wedding Journal Show at City West, so thankyou to all those who came to visit my stand and introduce themselves! New brides to be, current clients and also photographers. Great to meet everyone, and a great response all round.

This month I am also teaching makeup in Loreto HighSchool Beaufort-to transition year students. What a great bunch of girls!! An absolute pleasure to deal with.

Lifetimes Newspaper have requested a bridal article, so this month I organised a photoshoot with the fabulous Terry Warren, and model Orlagh Quinlan kindly kindly offered her services! Great day, and the pictures look fab also. Keep an eye out for the issue mid February!

Wedding trials and Makeup Lessons took me to various locations, from Rathfarnham to Crumlin to Wexford etc!!

Great to start to the new year, and looking forward to lots more work throughout the year!
